power distribution management systems

power distribution management systems

In industrial production complexes, there is a need to provide energy distribution management system (PDCS) to manage energy distribution, especially at peak of power consumption, and while the energy is provided locally by the complex internal generators. Fars Scout Industrial Co. has provided some energy distribution management systems for industrial complexes, two of these systems are introduced below.

  • Power distribution control system (PDCS) for Bandar-e-Imam Petrochemical complexes.

The purpose of this project was to monitoring and control the power distribution in Bandar-e-Imam Petrochemical Plant, which was designed and produced as ordered of PIDEC Company.

In this system two redundant S7-300 Siemens PLCs were used as the controller, and two PCs are used to provide monitoring HMI.

Input and output modules were hot-plug which made it possible to replace I/Os without system shutdown.

Redundancy was also provided in Ethernet network and computers operation.

Metering devices of a number of circuit breakers were transferred to system through thirteen MODBUS links.

  • Power distribution power distribution control system (PDCS) of Urea and Ammonia plant of Shiraz Petrochemical Complex.

The purpose of this project was monitoring and control the power distribution in Urea, Urea handling and Ammonia units of Shiraz petrochemical. Fars Scout Industrial Company designed and constructed the system as ordered by PIDEC Company.

In this project two Siemens S7-400 PLCs have been used as the controller of the system, and two PCs for monitoring.

The Redundancy in this system was provided in the PLC controllers, the computers and the Ethernet network.

Input and output modules were hot-plug which made it possible to replace I/Os without system shutdown.

The information of metering devices were received by the PLC through Modbus links and monitored on PC.
