SCADA and BMS systems of Shiraz metro

SCADA and BMS systems of Shiraz metro

SCADA system:

The purpose of setting up the Scada system for the first line of Shiraz city train is to control, monitor
and collect data on the power supply system of this line with an approximate length of 24.5 km from
Allah Square in the east of Shiraz to Ehsan Square in the west of Shiraz. The line includes 20
passenger stations, 1 installation station, 7 intermediate shafts, a terminal, a depot and a command
center.

While this system prevents the execution of incorrect commands, in case of power outage of any of
the medium voltage (BSS) or high pressure (HVS) substations, it automatically controls the 20 kV
network switches and consumers to provide the supply according to the support facilities available in
the network and prevents power outages..

This monitoring system monitors and controls high-voltage substations of 66.20 kV, 20
kV switching substations, train traction substations (TSS) and  general power supply
substations (LPS) and general power supply substations for the shafts between
tunnels..

Electrical Network of Shiraz Metro has a complete add-on that provides power supply from different substations with overlaps. If power in one substation gets disconnected, it is possible to supply from other substations. It necessitates high speed of operation, through advanced monitoring and control that can troubleshoot and isolate the issues with appropriate commands to provide power from other substations at different voltage levels.

The Scada system monitors all substations at different levels and displays them in the control room of different metro stations and dual central control, to enable status observation and issue automatic commands under the control and supervision of the central control unit. Therefore, the most important goal of implementing the Scada system is to prevent power outage of the trains and stations by using the maximum number of add-ons available in Shiraz metro substations at different stations and at different voltage levels. While receiving information, monitoring and controlling overhead switches that cover the entire line with redundancy and proper overlaps, the Scada system provides provides power to the entire line by receiving the status of readiness of traction boards and their serviceability by controlling train overhead switches.
